Neurotech Academy: WBE, BCI and Clinical

The rapid advancement of broad application technology holds extraordinary promises for the development of products, devices and research based on modern neuroscience. Developing neuroscience based technologies - neurotechs - is increasingly accessible to the community in many cases without substantial costs or time investments (e.g. 4-6 year academic degrees).

Neurotech Academy seeks to provide a standardized curriculum introduction and intermediate education in three emerging fields that we view as transformative technologies in the next few years. Our curricula will be focused on frontier of technology knowledge and bottlenecks, and we aim to provide the knowledge and basic skill-sets to start contributing to these emerging fields in weeks or months.

-
Whole-brain emulation aims to create a digital replica of a human brain by mapping all its neural connections and simulating its processes. This technology could potentially preserve consciousness and cognitive functions, offering insights into brain activity and aiding in the study of neurological disorders.

-
Brain-Computer Interfaces enable direct communication between the brain and external devices by translating neural signals into commands. BCIs hold promise for assisting individuals with disabilities, enhancing cognitive capabilities, and even providing new ways to interact with technology through thought alone.

-
Clinical neurotechnologies encompass a range of tools and treatments designed to diagnose, monitor, and treat neurological conditions. These include neurostimulation devices, advanced imaging techniques, and neuroprosthetics, all aiming to improve patient outcomes and quality of life by targeting specific neural pathways and functions.
